Doctors prescribing cannabis in Denmark

All doctors can prescribe the products included in the medicinal cannabis pilot programme, but no doctor is obliged to do so.

All doctors can prescribe magistral cannabis-based medicines but are not obliged to do so.

Sativex may only be prescribed by specialised neurologists.

Epidyolex may only be prescribed by specialists in neurology and paediatrics.

In relation to applications for Marinol and Nabilone on a dispensing authorisation, the Danish Medicines Agency will decide on the doctors' specific applications.
